2. SALVATION

Chapter 4.

The
Secret of Hebrews

The following is
the verse in Hebrews,
the second of the two examples above.

 It is impossible for those
who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit,
who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance,
because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
 」

(Hebrews 6:4-6)

Again,
I really don't understand
the people who insist on 'salvation based on works' referring to this verse.

To me,
it sounds like there is not a single person who can go to heaven,
why would they think it doesn’t
go for themselves?

The meaning of this verse,

which is used a lot by those
who stress the repentance
and good deeds, is very clear:

"You are all going to hell."

That's what it means!

It is the verse that God intentionally bounds all people over in hell.

"For there is not
a single person who
does not sin in his/her life."

Then, why did God record
this verse using Hebrew’s writer?

No matter how hard we try
to be obedient and not to sin,
we, humans, can never make it.

Because the sin is rooted in us
deeply from the very beginning.

God knows that

we will fail to make it.

Then, why did He threaten

to send us all to hell?

You believer!

The reason God traps all men
into ‘the destiny bound for hell’ is
to show you His Love.

He wants us to realize God's infinite love by showing His mercy to you that unconditionally forgives you
who are bound for hell.

Read the following verse carefully.

You will find an answer
to the reason you still disobey
while you want to be obedient without any sin.

「 For God has bound
all men over to disobedience
so that he may have mercy
on them all.
Oh, the depth of the riches
of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!

(Romans 11:32,33)

What God truly wants is
to receive love, appreciation,
and praise that come from your heart by unconditionally forgiving your sins with His compassion and mercy.

Let's go back to Hebrews.

 It is impossible for
those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance,

because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
 」

(Hebrews 6:4-6)

Let me explain
this in detail.

"Read carefully."

Hebrews is one book.

Chapters and verses have been organized and indexed for an easy view after written.

Again,

Hebrews is one book.

Who have tasted
the goodness of the word

of God and the powers
of the coming age,
if they fall away,
to be brought back to repentance

(Hebrews 6:5~6)

Actually,
this verse is just an intro
to explain something essential that
its writer really intends to say.

Go down a little bit. It's 6:9.

「 "Even though we speak like this," dear friends,
we are confident of
"better things" in your case--things that "accompany salvation."

(Hebrews 6:9)

What do you think it means?

Dear friends,

I said earlier above that
"we all deserve to go to hell, no matter how hard we repent."

"However,"

I'm sure we know
a secret about better things
and things that
"accompany salvation."

That is what it truly means.

"Better things."
"Things that accompany salvation."

What is it?

I say again.

Hebrews is one book.

"The above is just an intro."

From chapter 6 to 8,
it says in detail about Jesus Christ who is the priest and sin offering.
Then, in the following chapter 9,
it says about God's
 "conclusion"
about those bound for hell.

「 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained
"eternal redemption."
The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean.
How much more, then, will the blood of Christ,
who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
 」

(Hebrews 9:12-14)

Let me put all these verses together.

Though you are saved
 by being enlightened,

if you sin again and fall away, you will never be brought back to repentance and
eventually go to hell.

Because you are crucifying Him all over again and subjecting Him to public disgrace.

But don't be sad
and despair.

An "eternal redemption"
was made by the blood of Jesus on the cross.

"Only" the defectless blood of Christ saved you from hell.

Praise His glorious "Grace!"

Let me cut this words short.

Don't be mistaken
that you have life thanks to your hard repentance.

You have life
 only thanks to God's
 "Grace, Compassion, and Mercy!"

Not forcing your agreement.

I just want you to read
 this writing to the end.

Because I have to keep
my promise to help put your name
on the Book of Life and avoid hell.
